The BORG22 review here O.K that's the black one. Please note the product photos show the Miche hubs. BORG wheels or Royce hubs are offered.
The wheels are handbuilt in the shop. I call these BORG22 they are 22mm deep and polished silver. They are my all weather training wheelset for classic looking bikes. The rims are not expensive if they need to be replaced and the hubs, well they love the wet. Bearing life is long in all conditions.

The rim is 24mm wide and 22mm deep. It weighs 450g. The rear rim has offset drilling for increased NDS spoke tension (this is a good thing for spoke life). The internal width of this rim is 19mm and it has a 2mm thick spoke nipple bed. All tyres will sit wider on this rim than they would on a narrower one. This improves rider comfort due to the increased air volume and due to the different tyre shape handling in the bends particularly over broken road surfaces is improved. .
These wheels are robust and the rims are low cost meaning they are perfect training wheels and ideal for wet weather/winter use. They are supplied tubeless ready with tubeless tape, valves and IRC tyre levers. The levers are supplied because they are best levers I have tried and make fitting of every tyre I have tried so far easy.
Spokes and nipples
BORg wheels hubs get Spaim Force spokes but Royce hubs get the Sapim race due to a difference in spoke hole size in the hub flanges. Sapim silver brass nipples are used. A stiff wheelset for nearly all riders weight limit 100kg. Spoke nipple washers are used as well.
Hubs - all 100/130mm OLD
SON 28 6V, 3W hub is available for front wheels too. This hubs has superior charging capabilities and 62mm flange spacing. The Son Deluxe widebody can be used for the same price. This hub has 68mm flange spacing, just ask.
Royce Mid Flange front/Venus rear
Royce hubs are perfection. Polished then adnodised for a satin finish. 6001 main shell bearing from NTN in the rear hub are 6901 in the front hub. 316 stainless steel axle.... it goes on. simply the best engineered hub there is. Made in the U.K too.
BORG Wheels hubs
Our own hubs use alumium axles bearings fron NTN and a 4 pawl 36T freehub mechanism. 6902 rear hub shell bearings are used and 6901 for the front. Shimano 8/9/10/11/12 speed freehub,w SRAM XDR and Campagnolo 9/10/11/12 speed freehub bodies are available.
Simply reliable wheels that benefit from The Cycle Clinic life of the rim guarantee against going out of true/spoke failure, rim cracking (but not rim damage) and hub flange cracking.
The Cycle Clinic is a stockist/importer of IRC tubeless and clincher (tubed) tyres. You can opt for any IRC tyres to be fitted to your wheels. Other brands are stocked too. If you buy tubeless tyres of this shop I will fit them and set them up with Maxalami Sealant. Please note if you buy tubed tyres buy tubes also. U.K policy
Orders placed in the afternoon normally get sent the next workday where possible. Orders placed before noon are often sent the same day but this is not guaranteed.
Same day disptach is not guaranteed due to volume of mail order. In general we are not operating with big delays in dispatch if any.
- Standard shipping is with DHL. Cost is £6.00 . Fully tracked with hour delivery slots.
- Some U.K addresses excluded from he DPD service Royal Mail is used (1st class tracked). Checkout is not sophisicated enough to know all the excluded postcodes. - Rims are sent by courier only- cost £10. UPS is used. A phone number and email address must be supplied to allow me to book in. This service can also be picked for smaller items that you want delivered by UPS.
- Wheels shipping cost is £20 (cost of courier + cost of the box) next day. To NI, Scottish Islands, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and that is a two day service.
Overseas
Courier services are used only or over seas mail. UPS or parcel force depending on destination.

The import charges you will face are and these will be levied by the shipping carrier or by your customs authority in advance of delivery. Customs clearance will add to shipping times.
You will be billed for
Import duties which are set by the tarrif code we declare. Tarrif rates are normally published on government websites. "Free trade agreements" affect this and for EU customers there are no duties as tarrifs are set at zero for goods like our wheels that originate in the U.K. Goods that originate in the E.U and are exported back yo the E.U attract tarriffs. Good made outside the e.u and sold into the E.U attract tarrifs. The declared value in GDP will be converted to your countries currency by the monthly rate published by your tax authority.
Customs clearance fees -these vary from country to country and also vary by declared value in some juristictions.
VAT or sales taxes and applied to the total of the declared value of goods, customs clearance charges and import duties.
This shop declares the total paid for the goods for customs value, no exceptions. We will not declare low values as thats fraud and we will not be party to it.
A word of warning once an parcel has been shipped any import charges are your reponsibility. Refusal to pay these charges to the parcel carrier mean you loose the right to an automatic refund. We refund at our discretion minus any charges we are levied by the parcel carrier. These charges cannot be disputed by us. We also reserve the right to apply a 10% restocking fee on top of any charges applied to us for the return of the parcel. Therefore once shipped charges must be paid. We can accept no liability if the parcel is lost after charges have been refused to be paid.
