Fourteen years after the release of the GP4000, GP5000 takes over. Lower rolling resistance, 20% increased puncture resistance (over the GP4000IIs tyres) and now available tubeless ready.
- Active Comfort - Elastomer damping layer for improved comfort
- Lazer Grip - Laser engraved texture on shoulders for greater cornering traction and improved aerodynamic performance
- Vectran Breaker - Liquidcrystalline polymer defense layer, for the ultimate puncture protection with no adverse affect on rolling resistance
- Black Chili The premium compound for grip, speed and durability

My own view. These are definatley low rolling resistance tyres. I will use them for time trails. The wear rate is fairly high. For myself 2000km of winter riding has squared of the rear. The wet grip is good but not IRC RBCC tyre like either as that is almost exceptional. Puncture resistance does seem fair. They doo seem surprising comfortable for a low TPI casing. A good tyre if you can live with the wear rate.
On my BORG45 Disc wheels (18.5mm internal width), the 25mm tyres sit at 25.5mm wide @ 80 psi.
