The new Mavic Open Pro UST Disc brake wheelset is a fine choice for those need a reliable set of hoops that are tubeless tyre ready.
The wheelset is listed using the Race DX hubs. That why these work out cheaper than the BORG22 Disc. Of course I can build the wheels with the BORG DX hub but the cost would be £444. The race dx hub is heavier and uses lower grade bearings. The other difference is the freehub. The Borg dx uses titanium pawl seats over steel.
So the Mavic rims are 19mm internal width, 24mm wide, tubeless ready with the fitted tape and valves. The spokes are black Sapim force with silver brass nipples (this keeps the cost down).
The hubs are Miche Race DX and are for 6 bolt rotors. The hubs can have a shimano 8/9/10111 speed, Campagnolo 9/10/11/12 speed or SRAM XDR driver fitted.
The hubs are QR 100/135 or 100x12/142x12mm compatible. 100x15mm is supported too.
Weight is 1755g. Weight limit is ~100kg. This is a stiff wheelset built for high miles.
Spoke count is 28F/28R.
Mavic's Yskion UST and Hutchinson tubeless tyres are offered in 28mm width for these rims. These are the easiest fit road tyres.
IRC Boken tyres are offered for a gravel option.
